For our group project we’ve chosen to create an autobiography timeline map that will chronicle the life and conquest of Alexander the Great. The story of Alexander the Great has been told numerous times, but we believe that a timeline map with illustrations pinpointing his conquests with brief descriptions, photographs, and perhaps brief documentaries will help in producing an interesting historical visualization of our topic. It’s always interesting to read about old and new subjects, but this timeline map will show how technology and other digital tools can be used to teach a subject.
The website we will use to create this timeline map will be Time Mapper, the website will allow us to incorporate brief descriptions, locations, photos, or videos on our map. The benefit to this website is that it is simple to use, and once we have our data, we plug the URL into the site and the site takes care of the rest.
In conclusion, our group will focus on creating an autobiography timeline map that will chronicle the life and conquests of Alexander the Great. We fill that a historical visualization on the subject will demonstrate that technology and other digital tools can help in teaching old and new historical topics.
