I really like the idea of having a professional online presence. I’ve known for years that professional businesses look into your online profiles when you send in a resume, but I’ve only recently began to realize the importance of how our online profiles are to our real lives. With Facebook and Twitter I typically post whatever is on my mind: the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between. This may not go over well with my future employers, however, with the linked in account I have a respectable online presence which showcases my abilities and achievements. This makes a much better impression on employers than my Twitter, where I just complain about hating finals.
