For our group work in class, we decided to map some of Henry David Thoreau’s stops during his life. StoryMap proved useful for certain projects and is user-friendly. However, we did quickly notice some problems with StoryMap. The ability to share the map with group members on was not provided which made constructing it a little more challenging. Secondly, the finalized version is zoomed too far out for the user to observe the landscape up close and I have not had any luck fixing this(users are still able to zoom in themselves, but it is required for each slide and becomes a hassle).
However, StoryMap is a great tool for learning basic mapping and interactive storytelling. If you are interested in seeing what we did for our map you can check it out here. Any feedback or tips would be appreciated!
