This map I worked on with my partner Weston shows the olympic career of Duke Kahanmoku. Each point on the map has is a different olympics with the date and the event Duke competed in. A line was drawn through the points to connect them all. At the time we were only focused and making the mapping relate to surfing, however now that we have a grasp on making the maps we feel we can try other mapping ideas for our digital project. This digital mapping is a good tool for mapping out events like Duke’s Olympic career, but it can also be used to tell a bigger story. It could be used to trace the the US involvement in WW2 or be used to show the path of the African slave trade like the one we saw in class.
